Both Liberia and Sierra Leone football secretariats have agreed to cancel Sunday, 10 July CHAN-friendly which was scheduled to be played in Monrovia ahead of a busy CHAN qualifier at the end of the month.
The neighbor countries were using the match to prepare for their respective CHAN qualifiers over the weekend of 22-24 July.
The Lone Star of Liberia are thrusted into a double-header tie with rivals Teranga Lions of Senegal, while the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone are pitched against the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde for the right to play in the latter stages of CHAN qualifiers, a competition at the senior level in Africa only contested by players playing at home.
Liberia and Sierra Leone have built bilateral sporting relationships over the years which allow for multiple friendly international competitions to be played between both nations in the last 5 football-calendar years.
