Housemates Salone Season 3 with the slogan, “Di Game Get Yagba, If You Nor Able Na for Pull Hand”, is becoming the most favourite topic of discussion, especially among the youthful population. As the Reality TV Show has started thrilling, viewers are expressing their opinions and views vis-à-vis certain aspects or episodes depicting how the Housemates are comporting themselves as well as their performances.
Some are even making mockery of how some of them are unconsciously murdering the Queen’s Language even going to the extent of mimicking what they said at certain points in time.
Indeed, this has generated some heated debates with one side pushing the argument that it is nothing like murdering the Queen’s Language but rather expressing themselves in “Pidgin English” which, it is stressed, should be accepted, referencing the not too long concluded “Big Brother Naija” Reality TV Show further cementing the argument that unlike some of them that have stayed abroad there are some who have not been chanced or privileged to live in societies where the predominant language is English.
There is another school of thought that is of the firm conviction that the excuse that the English Language is not our first Language and therefore it should not be expected that all of them will flow fluently. They added that not articulating well in the English Language does not in any way determine whether a Housemate is entirely dumb or totally ignorant or stupid.
According to them, some people have the phobia of not being able to express themselves in public; they are shy, introverts who, overtime, will build the confidence to speak out boldly.
This school of thought also maintained that the Reality TV Show is not an English Aptitude test that the Housemates are going through but rather a conduit to express their God-Given talents, a platform to identify creatives and see how those could be harnessed to become productive and beneficial to human existence.
Currently, Twenty-two Housemates are battling it out in a competitive manner until the climax, after some would have been exited from the House, when the ultimate winner will emerge to bag the mouthwatering prize of Le250M plus a fully sponsored round leisure trip to Dubai.
Also, one of the sponsors of the Reality TV Show, Zarlux Car Rental, has revealed that a brand new car will be given to the winner of the Zarlux Car Rental task that will be performed by the Housemates in the House during the course of the show.
Many are now watching the Reality TV Show live, on a 24/7 basis, on AYV Entertainment Channels 34 & 33 and AYV on DSTV Channel 399. It must also be noted that Housemates Salone Season 3 is also shown on what is widely referred to as Nigeria and Ghana DSTV.
Viewers now have a wide variety of platforms through which they could enjoy the Reality TV Show.
The underlying rationale behind why the organizers of Housemates Salone , the Africa Young Voices (AYV) Media Empire and Africell Sierra Leone ,decided to put the show together for the third time is to enhance Youth Empowerment.
It could be argued from this perspective that the Reality TV Show is offering the Housemates the golden opportunity to polish their English Language as they interact on a daily basis. Besides, they will be assigned various tasks in which they should do their presentations in English Language and inasmuch as they have the conducive environment to learn new things if only they concentrate as well as ready to imbibe new ideas they will be enlightened.
Since the Housemates are interacting in a very conducive atmosphere within the House, these Housemates are exhibiting real life situations where one sees them courting friendly relationship, cracking jokes, gossiping, engaging in animated discussions to the point of even going into blows. The episodes are bringing out attributes that are really captivating and fun packed, evoking laughter among viewers.
If some of the Housemates are appearing sexy by the kind of dresses they wear then that must not come as any big surprise simply because they are expected to display nudity.
Again, if sometimes they are seen talking harshly then it is because they are to intermittently use strong language and act funnily as the expectation is for them to be humorous. Manifestation of these traits is what is really making the Reality TV Show very interesting to watch, providing some form of comic relief for viewers and serving as a therapy to reduce stresses.
In actual fact, the Reality TV Show is serving as a conduit through which the Housemates are taken through mental and physical exercises that will end up to mould and shape their characters. They are benefitting from being guided to be motivational speakers, to think critically as well as rationally, how to healthily interact, how to solve problems, to cook, to sing, dance, control emotions and stress.
These competitors will be given the opportunity to learn from what visiting guests from certain corporate institutions will teach them by taking them through certain subject matters, learn how to play games and a host of other things that are aligned to coping mechanisms in life.
Better put into perspective, Housemates Salone Season 3 encompasses providing mentorship for young aspiring Sierra Leoneans who believe that they have talents that they could showcase which will provide valuable insights as to the everyday behavioral patterns of young people living together.
If it could be succinctly put in other words, Housemates Salone is a kind of refinery where the competitors will go through life overhauling experiences to an extent that life after Housemates Salone will be completely and positively different for them.
Housemates Salone Season 3 is indeed bringing loads of smiles and evoking animated discussions among the young and old in various social circles.
